Capital Campaign
“This is an exciting time for Bayside. It is essential that we improve our facilities so they are commensurate with the education that our children receive.”
--Joe Sullivan, Chairman of the Capital CampaignBayside Academy is known as a leader in college preparatory education. To continue this tradition, we have launched “Anchor the Future,” the $10 million Capital Campaign for Bayside Academy. With this campaign, Bayside will make the following needed capital improvements and enhancements that are essential to continue to provide our students with opportunities for success:
- The Performing Arts Center is the last and most highly anticipated project of the Capital Campaign. Construction began in August 2009, on this, the signature building on campus. The facility will feature a 350-seat theater for performances and programs, assemblies and ceremonies, as well as a lobby and bay room for art exhibits and shows, receptions, meetings and more. The first building of its kind on the Eastern Shore, the Performing Arts Center will benefit not only the students but the entire community.
- The new Learning Center for grades 3-6 opened its doors on April 1, 2008. The two-story building houses science and computer labs on each floor and features leading-edge technology in every classroom.
- Renovations to Mitchell Hall took place in summer 2008, creating a quadrant for grades 1 and 2, and creating a central location for these students. The students now have more convenient access to the Media Center and playground, and have also been given dedicated language, science and computer labs.
- A new track, athletic seating and a playground were the initial projects of the campaign and have already been completed.
