Welcome to the Intermediate School (3-6)
Welcome to Bayside Academy! Bayside Academy’s focus on developing the whole student toward excellence will continue as my motivation in the Intermediate School. I truly want to connect and partner with each family to make certain that your student has the best educational experience possible. While fulfilling my educational duties throughout each day, I will concentrate on establishing effective communications and organization and remain consistent with discipline. Attention to detail will play a big part in achieving these goals.
Please feel free to contact me at any point throughout the year to enable our team to make this the most successful year in your child’s educational career. Please feel free to contact me through e-mail or by phone at 251-338-6438.
Sincerely,

ATTENTION PARENTS:
As an increasing number of our students have become owners of personal electronic devices, the administrative staff of Bayside Academy felt the need to issue a policy regarding the proper use of personal electronic devices on our campus. As educators we recognize the benefit to be gained from allowing our students to have access to certain types of electronic devices. However, we are also aware of the potential dangers that exist through unlimited and unmonitored access to the internet. Our goal is to implement the use of technology without sacrificing the safety and well-being of our students.
Bayside is a Pre-Kindergarten through Twelfth grade school and we recognize that an across the board policy will not serve the best interest of our students. Therefore, we ask that you familiarize yourself with the policy relating to the grade level(s) in your home.
Parents must understand that non-compliance with our established policy will result in the confiscation of the electronic devise being used and a loss of electronic device privileges for the student involved. In addition, future access to the use of such devices may be denied. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Division Director if you have any questions.
GRADES 2 - 6
* Student must turn off WIFI on any student owned device before it is brought to school. This can be accomplished through “Parental Controls” available on the device. Keep in Mind: All classroom teachers have internet access within their classrooms for specific school related activities. Therefore, there is no need for students to access the internet through their personal devices during the school day.
*The downloading of books and games onto student devices should be done at home.
*Cell phone use is prohibited during the school day. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in student’s lockers/cubby throughout the day. Parents should contact the front office if they need to get a message to their child prior to dismissal.
*In order for carline procedures to run smoothly and without distractions, personal devices should remain in the students backpack at carline during pick up at the end of the day. Posted 1/23/13
