Welcome to the Primary School (PK-2)
I am delighted to welcome you to Bayside Academy. The Primary School Division is comprised of the pre-kindergarten through second grades. You will be amazed at the transformation and growth that takes place on this journey!
Our goal in the Primary School is not only to give your child an excellent academic education, but also to encourage creativity and individuality. An opportunity for each student to discover personal strengths and develop strong character traits is an important part of the Bayside Academy mission.

Announcements, Information & Forms
As an increasing number of our students have become owners of personal electronic devices, the administrative staff of Bayside Academy felt the need to issue a policy regarding the proper use of personal electronic devices on our campus. As educators we recognize the benefit to be gained from allowing our students to have access to certain types of electronic devices. However, we are also aware of the potential dangers that exist through unlimited and unmonitored access to the internet. Our goal is to implement the use of technology without sacrificing the safety and well-being of our students.
Bayside is a Pre-Kindergarten through Twelfth grade school and we recognize that an across the board policy will not serve the best interest of our students. Therefore, we ask that you familiarize yourself with the policy relating to the grade level(s) in your home.
Parents must understand that non-compliance with our established policy will result in the confiscation of the electronic devise being used and a loss of electronic device privileges for the student involved. In addition, future access to the use of such devices may be denied. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s Division Director if you have any questions.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN - GRADE 1
The classrooms of the students in these grade levels are equipped with the technology deemed appropriate for the students to use within the school day. Also, due to the nature and maturity level of the children in this age group, we have determined there is no need for them to bring personal devices to school. All such devices should remain at home.
GRADES 2 - 6
* Student must turn off WIFI on any student owned device before it is brought to school. This can be accomplished through “Parental Controls” available on the device. Keep in Mind: All classroom teachers have internet access within their classrooms for specific school related activities. Therefore, there is no need for students to access the internet through their personal devices during the school day.
*The downloading of books and games onto student devices should be done at home.
*Cell phone use is prohibited during the school day. Cell phones must be turned off and kept in student’s lockers/cubby throughout the day. Parents should contact the front office if they need to get a message to their child prior to dismissal.
*In order for carline procedures to run smoothly and without distractions, personal devices should remain in the students backpack at carline during pick up at the end of the day. Posted 1/23/13
