Volleyball Coach Ann Schilling Named to Hall of Fame
Coach Ann Schilling has been named to the 2020–21 class of the Alabama High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
During her 33 years at Bayside, Coach Schilling has brought home 26 state championships, including the ongoing national record-setting streak of 19 straight AHSAA State Championships. Her teams have made it to the playoffs every year of her career. Additionally, she led Bayside to becoming the only school in history of the Alabama High School Association (AHSAA) to win titles in 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A.
Although Coach Schilling is extremely modest about her accomplishments, she is renowned for her coaching ability and has been recognized nationally for her talent and the legacy she has built at Bayside. She has been named Coach of the Year almost every year for the past twenty years. Additionally, she was the 2009 Prep Volleyball Co-National Coach of the Year and the 2011 National Federation of High Schools’ National Coach of the Year. In March 2018, Coach Schilling was inducted into the Alabama High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
