Students Win Gold in State Creative Writing Competition

Essays written by Isabelle Rutland ’24 and Andrew Ray ’30 won first prize in their divisions at the state level of the Alabama Independent Schools Association’s creative writing competition last month.
The organization sent both winners gold medals which were awarded at division-level assemblies held on campus. “Being called to the stage to receive this award was a huge honor,” said 5th grader Andrew. Their essays, “Pronto!” and “Kindness Cafe”, will now move forward to represent Alabama at the AISA’s regional competition for the 9–12 and 3–5 divisions.
