Volleyball - YDL 5th/6th

The Bayside Academy YDL volleyball teams are for 3rd–6th graders and practices in the Bayside gymnasium. This program helps introduce young girls to volleyball.

With the varsity team's 20th straight AHSAA State Championship on October 27, 2021, Bayside added to their national records for most consecutive state championships and most state championships (30). Bayside is the first school in AHSAA history to win titles in the 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A classifications.

About the Coach
Coach Ann Schilling is a Hall of Fame coach who ranks in the top three nationally in career wins. She has more than 1500 wins at Bayside Academy and has led the Lady Admirals to the state playoffs all 34 years of her coaching career. In nearly each of the 34 seasons that Coach Schilling has been coaching at Bayside, the Lady Admirals have been one of the top two teams in the state (27 state championships and 4 runner-up finishes since 1987). Although Coach Schilling is extremely modest about her accomplishments, she is renowned for her coaching ability and has been recognized nationally for her talent and the legacy she has built at Bayside. She has been named Coach of the Year almost every year for the past twenty years: six times as the Alabama High School Volleyball All-Star Coach (1993, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2003, and 2008), four times as the Birmingham News State Coach of the Year (1992, 2000, 2007, and 2011), and four times as the Press Register Super 12 Coach of the Year (1998, 2000, 2002, and 2011). She was the 2009 Prep Volleyball Co-National Coach of the Year and the 2011 National Federation of High Schools’ National Coach of the Year. In 2018, Coach Schilling was inducted into the Alabama High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame. She received her degree in physical education from Auburn University.
