Performing Arts

Bayside Academy offers many opportunities for self-expression through dance and drama for all ages and grade levels. Ballet lessons are available for students as young as PK3, and drama classes are available for students in Middle and Upper School. Performing Arts courses encourage student exploration and provide opportunities for students to perform in a variety of settings.

The Bayside Drama Department puts on two major productions each school year. These productions provide students with the opportunity to perform and to learn stage production. Typically, one play is performed by Middle School students and the other is performed by students in Upper School.

Pilot Center

The Pilot Center opened its doors in December 2010 and has since hosted student plays, awards ceremonies, dance recitals, musical concerts, film festivals, traveling theatre troupes, and more. The 14,500-square-foot building was the first of its kind on the Eastern Shore and provides our young thespians with the chance to perform in a real theatre, our young musicians with state-of-the-art acoustics in which to sound their best during practice and concerts, our young artists with a gallery in which to host exhibits, and our community with a home for guest speakers and special events.
