Effie Thompson

Effie graduated from the University of Alabama in 2002 with a degree in Communication Studies and a double minor in Human Development and Family Studies and Business Management. In 2004, Effie and Ty were married and moved to Fairhope where she has been involved in various community projects. She served on the Thomas Hospital Foundation’s Board of Directors from 2007–2014, served on the Executive Committee for Thomas Hospital Foundation from 2011–2013, and chaired the 27th Grand Summer Ball in 2013 which raised $264,000 for local charities. Effie also served as the Thomas Hospital Foundation liaison for Polo at the Point and co-created a group of young professionals known as Future Founders. Effie is a member of St. James Episcopal Church and served on the Vestry for two years. She and Ty have two children who attend Bayside: Gracie (9th grade) and Wright (6th grade). Effie chaired The Bay Affair in 2018 and has served on the Bayside Advisory Board.
