Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Middle School Building
It was an historic morning at Bayside Academy as we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of our brand-new Middle School—a milestone made possible by the support and dedication of our entire Bayside community.
Administrators, members of the Board of Trustees, alumni, faculty, staff, and families gathered to witness students of all ages walk through the doors of the state-of-the-art facility for the very first time. The ceremony included a dedication by Trustee Brandon Pilot ’08, the presentation of items for the Middle School time capsule by Associate Head of School Russ Connell, and encouraging words from Trustee Clifton Mosteller. Head of School Dr. Scott Phillipps shared his hope and excitement for the continued growth and progress of Bayside Academy before cutting the ribbon with Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Thomas Gross.
To mark the occasion, the Bayside band proudly led the way into the new building—filling the morning with spirit, pride, and celebration!
The two-story building will be home to students in Grades 5–8 and includes classrooms, a commons area on each floor, a dedicated counselor’s office, a spacious conference room, and beautiful porches large enough to accommodate every middle school student. The furniture was thoughtfully incorporated to include adaptive classroom design and seating.
