Programs

Athletics play an important role in the full Bayside Academy experience. From its inception, Bayside has fostered a culture of health, wellness, and athletic achievement. Daily physical education classes, beginning in Lower School, introduce fitness as a lifetime endeavor. Athletic participation encourages students to challenge themselves and helps to build self-confidence through hard work, consistency, and collaboration. Sports programs build community and develop communicative and adaptive leaders.

Bayside students are encouraged to participate in athletics, and we offer outstanding programs with the chance for students to excel through sportsmanship, drive, and teamwork. We field 40 teams in 17 sports for students in Grades 7–12. Additionally, we have Youth Development League (YDL) offerings in 9 sports for students in Grades 1–6. We encourage our students to be leaders who display responsibility, integrity, and respect in all they do, both on and off the field.

There is a tradition of excellence in sports at Bayside. At the same time, we firmly believe the importance is on the process, not on the result. Athletics provide valuable life lessons to our students. We are proud that nearly 85% of our Upper School students participate in athletics, and many of those play multiple sports.
