The Bay Affair

In 1985, Bayside Academy celebrated its first Bay Affair, and it has remained an annual event ever since. Members of the community have gathered to raise funds for the school through silent and live auctions in an atmosphere of fun and fellowship. In 2020, the hard decision was made to not to host The Bay Affair in its traditional format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, a modified version of The Bay Affair still took place in an online format.

Bayside’s premier fundraising event features live and silent auctions, artwork, food, and entertainment. The live auction consists of the more unique and higher-valued items. In recent years, live auction items have included weeklong trips to Alys Beach, Mardi Gras break vacation homes in Vail, and hunting excursions to Argentina. The online silent auction allows everyone, even those unable to attend the actual event, to view items and bid. Auction items typically include gift cards, professional and student artwork, pottery, trips, jewelry, clothing, and much more.

There is also a separate Spirit Week auction the week prior to The Bay Affair that is tailored to Bayside students and families. Past Spirit Week auction items have included alpaca yoga with the counselors, front row seats and reserved parking spaces for school events, and tailgate birthday parties on the ECC deck before home football or soccer games.
