We are proud to announce that Baldwin EMC has selected junior Farrah Lane as one of four students from Baldwin County chosen for the Youth Tour.
According to Baldwin EMC, “The Youth Tour is sponsored nationally by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and statewide by the Alabama Rural Electric Association. Each year, almost 2,000 outstanding high school students from across the nation visit their state and nation’s Capitols to develop leadership skills, to learn more about U.S. history and government, and to gain a personal understanding of their role as a citizen.”
As a Youth Tour winner, Farrah was awarded a $750 college scholarship, a trip to Montgomery in March, and a trip to Washington, D.C., in June. Additionally, she listed Upper School Math and Science Teacher Joe Swagart as a teacher who has made a significant impact on her during her high school career. As a result, Coach Swagart was awarded $500 for educational classroom materials.
We are so proud of Farrah and grateful to Baldwin EMC for the educational award.
