Mary Burton Merchant '26 and Forrest Smith '26 Awarded Energy Southeast Scholarships

Only 39 high school seniors across the state received one of these scholarships, so we are very proud of these two students.

 

Each scholarship recipient receives a $2,500 scholarship. Since the scholarship program began in 1992, Energy Southeast and its members have provided more than $3.5 million in financial assistance to graduating seniors. To qualify for the scholarship, students must reside in a household that receives electric service from an Energy Southeast member utility and must attend an Alabama college, university, community college, or vocational school. This long-standing initiative reflects Energy Southeast’s commitment to supporting the educational and economic future of Alabama’s students.
