Bayside won a share of the Class 4A Area 1 regular season championship in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 campaigns, going 5-1 and 4-2 in Area Play, respectively.

He was the assistant men's basketball coach at Birmingham-Southern College from 2007–2014.
Coach Vines graduated from The University of Mississippi with an English degree and has completed graduate work in English at The University of Alabama at Birmingham and at The University of Mississippi.
