BAYSIDE ACADEMY VARSITY AND JV WRESTLING
The Bayside Academy varsity and JV wrestling team consists of 7th–12th graders and competes in the 1–4A Division in Region 1 of the AHSAA. The competition schedule includes dual, tri, quad, team duals, and individual tournaments. The 2021–2022 season was the first year for Bayside's wrestling program. The team has set the tone in their division by achieving podium finishes in team and individual events as well as developing several individual state qualifiers. Bayside consistently achieves an above-average winning percentage in matches wrestled against all divisions across Alabama while simultaneously focusing on the physical and mental development of high school athletes.
HEAD COACH CALEB HALL
Honing his skills under some of the highest-level Illinois coaches (Jason Potter of St. Charles East and Israel Martinez of Izzy Style Wrestling), Coach Hall has developed a deep understanding of the technical aspects and mental fortitude required in wrestling. Beyond the mat, he served as a martial arts instructor in the United States Marine Corps. Coach Hall has a diverse coaching background, having worked with MMA fighters, youth wrestlers, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes, imparting invaluable skills that transcend disciplines. His coaching philosophy focuses not only on technical prowess but also on nurturing the resilience and character necessary for success in any endeavor. An advocate for youth development, Coach Hall has dedicated significant time and effort assistant coaching young wrestlers, instilling in them the values of sportsmanship, perseverance, and teamwork. His collaboration in the youth program helped to develop nine AYWO State Finalists and the highest team winning percentage in the state in 2023 as well as three National All-Americans.
