    BAYSIDE ACADEMY BOYS VARSITY FOOTBALL
    Our program competes in the AHSAA at the 3A classification with athletes in the 9th through 12th grade. The Bayside Academy football program just completed its 23rd season, with 22 of those seasons at the varsity level.  
     
    During the past 16 seasons, varsity football has been to the playoffs 14 times, with a playoff record of 14 wins and 14 losses. Our varsity football team has finished ranked in the top 10 six times.  
     
    Our 2023 varsity football team finished the season with an 8–3 record, 2nd in 4A Region 1, and a playoff appearance.

    HEAD COACH BARRETT TROTTER
    Barrett Trotter was named the head varsity football coach at Bayside Academy in February 2023. Coach Trotter comes to Bayside from Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham where he coached football and taught for two years. Prior to working at Briarwood, he coached at Auburn University and the University of North Carolina.  He spent the 2013–2016 seasons in the NFL coaching the Los Angeles (St. Louis) Rams.
     
    Additionally, Coach Trotter was a quarterback for Auburn University from 2008–2011 and was the starting quarterback during the 2011 season. He served as a team captain for his senior season. Academically, he was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll for four consecutive years and was a National Football Foundation Hampton Scholar.
