Our program competes in the AHSAA at the 3A classification with athletes in the 7th and 8th grade. The Bayside Academy baseball program practices and competes at the Highway 64 Sports Complex. 

 

Coach Edward Terry is entering his second season as head coach of middle school baseball at Bayside Academy. Over the past 12 years, he has coached over 25 teams and over 200 players in 450 games and 40 tournaments. His focus in coaching is player development, fundamentals, and discipline. Many of the student-athletes he coached are playing on local high school teams, playing at the collegiate level, or are committed to play at the collegiate level.

Coach Terry also founded The Baseball Academy here in Daphne. The Baseball Academy gives children from the local area a place to train with instructors who played baseball at the collegiate level. In the 2020 baseball season, many of his instructors will be coaching on local high school team staffs.

Coach Terry is also focusing on the implementation of a YDL baseball program for students in Grades 1–6. The goal will be to develop players at an early age by teaching them proper fielding mechanics, hitting mechanics, and throwing mechanics. By doing this, we will begin to develop the Bayside baseball program and create uniformity across the various age groups.
